Most people scroll Facebook for fun. I use it to make money, and you can too.
When I first started testing Facebook’s content monetization program, I had no idea what to expect.
I figured I’d try posting more, experiment with different content types, and see what happens.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve learned a lot, including a few strategies most creators completely overlook.
If you’ve ever wondered how people get paid to post on Facebook, here’s everything I’ve learned from my own journey and how you can start making money too.
What’s the Facebook Content Monetization Program?
Facebook’s monetization program lets you earn money when your eligible content gets engagement. That means you can earn by posting photos, text, stories, reels, and videos.
The more people view, like, comment, and share, the more you get paid.

But here’s what most people miss:
Facebook doesn’t just show your posts to friends and followers, it pushes your content to strangers too. That’s where the real reach (and income) happens.
How to Get Accepted
Before you start earning, you need to make sure you qualify:
- You must have a professional account (creator or business).
- Then opt-in to the waitlist from your profile settings to let Facebook know you’re interested.
- Your content has to follow Facebook’s community and monetization policies. Avoid posting anything spammy or clickbait!
- Consistent posting helps increase your chances of approval.
I used my personal Facebook account that I’ve had for years and converted it to a digital creator account.
And since I was already using FB to promote my affiliate marketing business, I was already posting consistently.
That was enough to get me into the program almost immediately.

My Journey With Facebook Monetization
In my first 10 days, I’ve earned $8.22 with the Facebook content monetization program. It doesn’t sound like much, but as with any side hustle, it takes time and consistent effort to build real results.

I’ve seen other creators make as much as $1,000 a day posting on Facebook! It sounds crazy but it’s happening.
I couldn’t stop wondering what their secret was, how were they making so much more as a Facebook creator?
So, I had ChatGPT analyze the strategy of someone earning $1K a day with Facebook monetization.
Let’s just say, I learned a lot.
The $1K/Day Facebook Content Monetization Blueprint
After ChatGPT analyzed the strategy of a Facebook creator earning $1K a day, several patterns became clear.
If you want to make money posting on Facebook, use these tips to grow your reach and earnings faster.
1. Craft a Hook That Stops the Scroll
Your first line needs to spark instant curiosity or emotion. Use shock, intrigue, or a bold statement.
✔︎ ChatGPT Prompt:
“Write 10 viral Facebook hook ideas about [topic]. Make them punchy, curiosity-driven, and short enough to fit in the first line before the ‘See More’ cut.”
2. Share a Relatable Story or Insight
Open up with a personal experience, lesson, or journey. Make it feel authentic, not corporate.
✔︎ ChatGPT Prompt:
“Write a short, relatable Facebook story about [topic]. Keep it conversational, 3-5 sentences max, and make readers feel connected.”
3. Deliver Skimmable Value
Use lists, numbered steps, or bullet points so your audience can quickly scan and grab insights.
✔︎ ChatGPT Prompt:
“List [number] actionable tips or steps on [topic] in a simple, skimmable format that works for a Facebook post.”
4. Add Social Proof or Evidence
Show screenshots, results, or stats to make claims believable.
✔︎ ChatGPT Prompt:
“Write a Facebook caption explaining how I achieved [result], using casual, authentic language. Include a line suggesting I’ll show proof in the image.”
5. Create an Emotional Payoff
Tap into what the reader wants…freedom, income, security, happiness, and connect the dots.
✔︎ ChatGPT Prompt:
“Write 3 variations of closing statements for a Facebook post about [topic] that make readers feel hopeful, inspired, or motivated.”
6. Use a Strong Call-to-Action
Use “comment a keyword” CTAs to drive engagement and increase reach.
✔︎ ChatGPT Prompt:
“Give me 5 Facebook call-to-action ideas encouraging readers to comment, tag a friend, or share, without sounding salesy.”
7. Pair It with an Eye-Catching Image
Use screenshots, results, or bold-text graphics to reinforce the post’s hook.
✔︎ ChatGPT Prompt:
“Give me 5 ideas for visuals to use alongside a Facebook post about [topic] that instantly grab attention and spark curiosity.”
When Does Facebook Monetization Payout?
Facebook pays out your content monetization earnings once a month, usually around the 22nd for what you earned in the previous month. So, for example, anything you make in January typically hits your account in late February.
In the U.S., you need to hit a minimum threshold of $5 to receive a payout, while in other countries that amount can vary.

Before you can get paid, you’ll need to set up a verified payout account.
I have mine connected to my TD Bank business account, but you can use whatever bank works best for you.
Just make sure your payment info is correct because if there’s an issue with verification, Facebook will hold your earnings until it’s fixed.
Once your account is set up and you hit the threshold, your payouts are automatic.

Other Ways to Make Money Posting on Facebook
The Facebook Creator Monetization Program is great, but it’s not the only way to get paid for posting.
I personally stack my income on Facebook by selling my own digital products in my Stan Store. I also promote my affiliate links and Amazon store alongside the content I create.
Other ways to make money with your Facebook posts:
- Sell Digital Products → Ebooks, templates, printables, or mini-courses directly to your audience.
- Promote Affiliate Links → Share products you love and earn a commission when people buy.
- Offer Services → Use your posts to book clients for coaching, consulting, or freelance work.
- Run Sponsored Posts → Partner with brands to create content and get paid for exposure.
- Grow an Email List → Use Facebook to funnel people to your list where you can sell directly.
- Sell Merch or Physical Products → Leverage your following to drive sales for your own store or shop.
The best part about these strategies is that you don’t have to choose just one. Start with the one that feels easiest to you, then layer in others as you get more comfortable.
The more income streams you stack on Facebook, the faster your earnings can grow.
Final Thoughts and Tips
Making money posting on Facebook with the content monetization program is a legitimate side hustle. I’m just getting started and am pumped about the potential.
The key is consistency, testing different strategies, and stacking income streams to make the most amount of money from your posts.
