Authority Site System Review
Pilar Newman
Summary
The Authority Site System is a course for beginners who want to learn how to build a profitable authority site that ranks on Google. It’s best suited for people looking for in-depth, step-by-step instructions and who have not yet earned $1,000 per month with their site. TASS is not recommended to experienced marketers looking for advanced strategies.
The Authority Site System review you’re about to read comes from my personal experience as a student of the popular Authority Hacker course.
If you by chance found this article from searching for it on Google, then I would say the course successfully did its job! Still, that doesn’t mean the course is good for everyone.
There are certain things you should know prior to getting started. Here, I’ll share what you should expect when you join the Authority Site System 3.0 course, and the time commitment involved to build a successful authority blog.
Discover 7 Secrets to Make New Sites 83% More Successful!
Expectation vs. Reality
I can’t speak for you on why you may be interested in building an authority site, but for me it was for the reward of building an online passive income business.
Many think ‘passive income’ means making money doing very little work while laying on the beach. While there may be some truth to that later on, it certainly isn’t the case when you first get started.
The Authority Site System 3.0 course (aka TASS) helped me build a passive income affiliate site, but it took some time to start seeing results.
In my case, it took 2 years and 105 blog posts for my site to start earning a mid 4-figure monthly income on auto-pilot. At this point in the journey, the income is starting to grow at a faster pace with the more I publish.
Your journey may look a lot different than mine, and results for you may come faster than they did for me. I hope it does!
Though on average, you should expect to see your return on investment 6 months to one year after starting your authority blog with TASS. It’s simply the nature of the business when it comes to building authority sites that get ranked on Google.
If you have the patience and drive to get results, then you should expect to see more than 10x return on investment after you implement everything taught in TASS.
Authority Site vs. Affiliate Site
My Authority Site System review will dive into what’s taught in the course and my experience as a student. Though one thing I wanted to quickly touch upon is the difference between building an authority site vs. affiliate site.
Both will make you money, but one has the potential to earn you a substantial amount more. So it’s important to know which one you plan to build.
Affiliate sites are mainly review sites with a bunch of supporting articles that act as presell pages. An example of this can be a site that shares everything there is to know about the dog breed, pit bulls.
Supporting articles will point back to review articles which promote products to buy for pit bulls that can be found on Amazon, Chewy or another site. In the case of Amazon, the affiliate blog owner would make money writing product reviews as an Amazon affiliate.
Authority sites on the other hand cover a larger topic area and are more brand focused websites. These types of websites, such as ‘Money and Finance’ sites build authority with their branding and expert content pieces.
Authority sites have a larger runway to build more income streams outside of simply promoting affiliate products. These sites typically also offer in-house digital products for sale, consulting services, mastermind groups, and more.
Which is Better?
In my experience, affiliate niche sites can rank faster on Google, but they hit an income ceiling shortly after. Not only that, they can also quickly fall out of favor with the target niche audience.
Take for example the niche affiliate sites that focused on the crypto market. As soon as crypto took a nosedive, so did the income of affiliate bloggers that were hyper focused on promoting crypto affiliate products only.
Authority sites cover a wider range of sub-topics under the umbrella of a larger niche. They have much more staying power and can earn you a substantial amount of money with multiple income streams.
Thankfully, the Authority Site System 3.0 will teach you how to build a stage 1 authority site that makes money with affiliate programs. These sites can continue to be built upon to become full blown highly profitable authority websites.
Stage 2 and 3 authority site building is taught in the intermediate and advanced level course, Authority Hacker Pro. You can read my full review of AH Pro here.
Authority Site System 3.0 Review
The Authority Site System is fully updated about every two years and is currently on version 3.0. There are also minor updates that are made throughout the year as needed.
As a student, you’ll have lifetime access to all course updates as they become available. It was one of the key selling points that got me excited to purchase TASS.
What You Will Learn
- Build a professional website from scratch — You’ll learn how to build a professional, industry-standard website from scratch. Regardless of your current skill level.
- Create exceptional content — Great content is the bread and butter of any authority site. By the end of this course, you’ll have all the tools needed to create content that goes above and beyond.
- Make Money! — That’s why we’re all here right? This course will provide all the information you need to start your journey towards creating a job replacing income with an online business.
Module 1 – Internet Marketing 101
The first module in TASS is made up of 6 course lessons. It’s essentially a high-level overview of what you’re about to build, and how it will work to make you money.
If you’ve never built an online business before, or don’t know how sites are monetized, then this section will cover many of these things. It’ll also give you a good understanding of how search engine optimization (SEO) works to effectively rank your site on Google.
Other things you will learn in Module 1:
- The lucrative ‘Exit Potential’ of selling an Authority Site
- The 3 stages of an Authority Site and how they work to make you money
- How to pick a name for your site, hosting and domain
- How beautiful sites are built with no tech experience whatsoever
- On-page and off-page SEO factors
- The role link building plays in ranking authority sites
- Tracking and monitoring your site progress
The instructional step-by-step material of everything mentioned above will come later on in the course. This section is mainly meant to give you the ‘meat’ of it all and to get you excited about what’s to come.
Module 2 and 3 – Brainstorming Niches + Qualifying Niches
Modules 2 and 3 will guide you through picking a niche that offers low competition, has profit potential and is suitable to you and your interests. The lessons are not only methodical in how to choose your niche, but also practical for long term success.
This lesson helped give me clarity of what NOT to do when it came to picking my niche. Prior to the course, I had come out of owning a 13 year Amazon FBA ecommerce business. I could have very easily decided to build an entire authority site on how to sell on Amazon and find profitable products.
Though, I had grown tired of ecommerce. It would have made no sense to start an authority site on something I had very little interest in. Undoubtedly, I would have given up on my site well before it started to make a profit.
Other things you will learn in Modules 2 + 3:
- The 4 niche categories (broad niches, community based niches, product based niches, and problem based niches)
- Deep niche research and analysis criteria
- Finding low competition commercial keywords
- Where to find affiliate programs and info products to promote
- Assessing CPC (Cost per click)
- Affiliate disclaimers
- Link building opportunities
- Advanced technique for finding and purchasing expired niche domains to rank faster on Google
These modules covers detailed lessons on niche selection. It’s the most in-depth teaching I’ve seen on the subject matter. There are 13 lessons in module 2 and 16 lessons in module 3.
Module 4 – Planning Your Site
Module 4 contains 9 lessons and will dive deeper into finding what is known as ‘commercial keywords.’ These are essentially keywords that denote the consumer is getting closer to making a purchasing decision.
Creating content around commercial keywords that rank high on Google is where the big money is made. Since commercial content pieces are harder to rank, it’s going to be important to find the low-hanging keywords to get started earning money with your site. This section will teach you how to find these.
Other things you will learn in Module 4:
- How to do competitor research
- Learning the criteria for low competition commercial keywords
- How to categorize your topics and subtopics on your site
- Using SEO Tool, Ahrefs, for analytical research
- Finding keywords for Skyscraper articles that get backlinks
- Building Your Sitemap
You’ll also learn how to take your competitor research and keywords to start creating version one of your authority blog sitemap. Sitemaps help search engines crawl your site and index it properly. It’s good for SEO purposes as well as for helping your reader navigate your site.
Most sites, even some of the big ones, don’t do this stuff properly. That’s why on many occasions you’ll see a random no name site outrank even some of the biggest players in the respective niche.
Modules 5 and 6 – Setting Up Your Site + Branding Your Site
These next two modules have a combined 22 lessons in them. If you’re like me and are not a tech person, then the training in these sections is a life saver! One of my biggest hesitations to starting an authority website was my fear of having to set up my blog and getting all the tech stuff right.
This course will walk you step-by-step through setting up your domain with Siteground, installing WordPress and themes, as well as using Elementor as your page builder.
Personally, I decided to use WPX as my hosting provider instead of Siteground.
I had heard from other affiliate bloggers that once your site begins to grow then you’ll need to get a more premium hosting plan for faster website speeds. Instead of having to switch over later, I decided to go with a WPX hosting plan right from the get go.
Other things you will learn in Modules 5 + 6:
- How to pick a domain name
- Setting up Siteground
- WordPress Settings and Installation
- Installing Elementor Pro
- Installing GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks
- Google Search Console Setup
- Google Analytics 4 Setup
- Site Speed
- Email Setup
- Picking colors and fonts to Brand Your Site
- Creating Your Favicon and Logo in Canva
There’s a lot of tech stuff in these modules and from my experience, this part of the process may take you a bit longer to complete. Although, if you are tech savvy then you will zoom right through this!
Modules 7 and 8 – Setting Up Posts and Pages + Preparing Info Content
Modules 7 and 8 will help you build the framework for your pages and posts using Elementor templates. This way, you’ll be able to plug-in new blog articles and categories quickly and easily. In total, there are a combined 27 lessons in the training modules.
This section is also the first time I had heard about ‘hard silos’ and ‘soft silos.’ If you don’t know what these are then don’t worry. The course will go over these site structure terms, and from there you’ll decide which way you want to build your site.
As you may have already noticed in this Authority Site System review, there’s a lot to learn when it comes to building authority sites. The truth of the matter is that oftentimes what you don’t know is what will stunt your growth the most.
TASS covers a lot of things that I would have never discovered on my own had I not taken the hacker site course.
Other things you will learn in Modules 7 + 8:
- Building Your Hub Page
- Building Page + Post templates with Elementor, and for others who prefer to use GeneratePress, there’s also full lessons on that
- Privacy Policies and Disclaimers
- Contact Page
- Creating Content for Web Users
- Creating Content for Google
- Types of Info Content
- Writing Guidelines
The guys at Authority Hacker generously updated the course to include advanced lessons on building out your site with GeneratePress. These building blocks are lighter weight and are supposed to make your site load much faster. Though it is also more complicated to build, especially as a newbie blogger.
Elementor page builder sites are easier to build and get off the ground faster. It works well for making money as a stage 1 authority site. You’ll have the option of learning to build out your site with one or the other. (this site uses Elementor and it’s helped me make a mid 4-figure monthly affiliate income so far!)
Module 9 and 10 – Writing Content + Uploading and Optimizing Content
Modules 9 and 10 have 27 lesson plans in total. This is where you start learning about the structure of a content piece, including how long an article should be and how to use H2 and H3 headlines.
Module 10 is particularly important because it will go into SEO related optimization such as the Meta tags, URL optimization, internal and external linking and more.
You’ll also get to see how creative the founders of Authority Hacker are when it comes to doing further research for content pieces. They truly are great at their craft and amazing teachers for learning how to build niche authority sites in a concise and easy to digest manner!
Other things you will learn in Modules 9 + 10:
- Content research using YouTube
- Planning Your Article
- Editing Your Content
- Social Title and Description
- How to add Meta tags
- Creating WordPress Categories for Your Content
- Indexing Your Site
- FAQ Schema
At the beginning of the course, it is recommended that you deindex your site from being found on Google. Now that you have content up, this is where you turn on the indexing feature so your articles can show up on Google search.
Module 11 – Initial Link Building
Module 11 comprises 25 lessons and will take you through how to do link building to build authority for your site. You’ll hear some people talk about the importance of link building while others will dismiss it as being less important to ranking.
I do believe that high authority blogs that link back to your site will help you increase your affiliate blog traffic overall. Though, I’m not sure how pertinent this will still be in the future as Google’s algorithm becomes more aware of the easy manipulation within link building.
Other things you will learn in Module 11:
- The anatomy of a link
- What are Link Farms and how to spot them
- HARO prospecting and outreach
- Pitching topics for guest posting
- Skyscraper prospecting
- Skyscraper outreach templates
I’ve done very little link outreach to obtain the backlinks to my affiliate blog. Ultimately, if you write high quality content, you’ll begin to naturally get backlinks to your site.
Module 12 – Affiliate Monetization Setup
Module 12 has 9 lessons and is all about making money with affiliate marketing. This is where you learn how to monetize your stage 1 authority site with affiliate links.
TASS at this stage is primarily an Amazon affiliate marketing course for beginners. Here, they will teach you how to become an Amazon Associate and how to properly add and tag affiliate links on your site.
Other things you will learn in Module 12:
- How Affiliate programs work
- Managing Links with ThirstyAffiliates
- Signing up for Amazon Associates
- Affiliate Rules
- Affiliate Disclosures
- Affiliate Payouts
Since I was already doing affiliate marketing with YouTube and short form reels, I opted to promote the same affiliate products on my blog that I was promoting in other places. Plus, if I was going to put all this effort into building an affiliate site, then it made much more sense for me to promote higher ticket programs.
It wasn’t until later on when I became an Amazon Influencer that I then began to promote Amazon products as an Associate. You can choose to do as you wish for yourself. It’s your authority site and you can promote high ticket or low ticket products!
Module 13 – Commercial Content
Module 13 contains 14 lessons that will share with you all the different ways and formats you can use to write commercial content. Many of the articles you read online use these formats to give you the information you’re searching for in order to make a buying decision.
I did not realize just how much of what I read online is created in this way until I took the Authority Site System course!
Other things you will learn in Module 13:
- Types of Commercial Content
- Overview of each Commercial Content format
- How to create ‘Buying Guides’
- Commercial Content intros and outros for best conversions
- Uploading and Publishing Commercial Content
- Checkpoint: Writing 40 Commercial Content posts
Again, commercial content is where the money is made with affiliate sites. So this is an important section that you may want to revisit again throughout your authority site building journey.
Module 14 – Advanced Tactics
Module 14 is made up of 11 lessons and is the ‘cherry on the top’ in my opinion. This section will cover advanced tactics that you can implement to grow your authority site faster to reaching the $10k per month mark.
At this point in my affiliate blogging journey, I can really appreciate this section. If you get to a point where you’ve built out the foundation of your site and you have blog posts written, then the few tweaks mentioned in the ‘advanced tactics’ training will start you on your way to the next level.
The next level in this case is moving on to the Authority Hacker Pro training. It’s the next investment I plan to make in the coming months to help move my blog up to a full scale Authority site.
Other things you will learn in Module 14:
- Creating Product Highlight Boxes in GeneratePress and Elementor
- Optimizing content with SurferSEO
- Outsourcing content
- Getting faster at writing content
- Hiring Writers
- Managing Writers
- Promoting High Paying Affiliate Products with Popups
- Creating a sticky header for High Paying Affiliate Offers
- Setting up Display Ads
The advanced tactics section is an added bonus to being a student of the Authority Site System 3.0 program.
Module 15 – Becoming an Authority
The course ends with Module 15, but the Authority Hacker guys don’t leave you flat out without giving you advice on next steps. In addition to this, they’ll give you insight on how to use Google Search Console to track your results as well as other methods for tracking your progress.
Other things you will learn in Module 15:
- What to start tracking
- How to start tracking
- Ahrefs DR and Rank
- Learning about the Google Sandbox
- Next Steps
This is the entire course program you can expect to get as a TASS member. It’s definitely a lot!
Some people think it’s too detailed and boring. I on the other hand think it’s a treasure trove of information that expertly guided me to a money making affiliate site.
NEW BONUS! E-E-A-T Blueprint
The E-E-A-T Blueprint is a recent addition to the TASS course.
It’s also a testament to how invested the Authority Hacker guys are in keeping the course relevant in a sea of outdated blogger courses.
The bonus module is partly in response to a new Google update known as ‘Google Perspectives.’
It’s a new way for Google to determine the authority of your site by measuring real world experiences and unique insights, which provides new value to the reader.
It’s a critical module in a world of re-produced and generic AI written reviews.
Other things you will learn in E-E-A-T Module:
- How to write real world experience into your copy
- Learn how to create unique media (images, videos) even if you don’t have the product in hand
- Setting up Custom Author Pages for building Authority
- Hiring expert reviewers for your site
- Setting up a custom Article Schema to feed all your author data to Google
- Building Topical Authority
- Implementing Review Guidelines Schema
I’ve gone through the module twice now and have updated some of my review articles based on the new information provided in the module.
Authority Site System Mastermind Group
One of the greatest benefits to being a course member of the Authority Site System is the ability to ask questions within the private course Facebook group.
I’ve asked a few questions over the last couple of years and they have always been answered by either group members or an admin.
Even the founders of Authority Hacker such as Mark Webster, will occasionally chime in with an answer to a member question.
Considering just how busy the Authority Hacker teachers must be, it’s refreshing to see them invested in the success of their students.
Authority Hacker Course Technical Support
You can also contact TASS technical support for help via email at support@authorityhacker.com. They are available Monday thru Friday from 9am – 5pm CET.
So you can rest assured that if you run into any tech issues in building your site, the team at Authority Hacker will help you get over the hump!
Authority Hacker TrustPilot Reviews
I wouldn’t put too much weight on the Authority Hacker TrustPilot reviews. At the time of this writing, there are only 2 reviews on there with a 3.7 overall rating.
Not to be biased or anything, but I would say that a detailed Authority Hacker Site System review from an actual student will give you better insight on what to expect from the course! Ha!
Meet Your Instructors
‘Who is the founder of Authority Hacker?’
Well, there’s actually two of them! Gael Breton and Mark Webster are the founders of Authority Hacker. They each teach different sections within the Authority Site System 3.0 course.
Gael Breton
Gael Breton is one of the founders of Authority Hacker, and according to his LinkedIn, he is based in Budapest, Hungary. He is widely known in the industry to be one of the best SEO marketing experts in the field.
Gael has started many online companies in the past as well as helped companies grow using inbound marketing. Watch him in this YouTube clip when he was with the company HigherClick, explaining inbound marketing strategies for Startups.
Mark Webster
Mark Webster is the co-founder of Authority Hacker and according to his LinkedIn, he is based in the United Kingdom. He was also the co-founder of Higher Click where he and Gael worked together on the business.
Mark is extraordinarily knowledgeable in online digital marketing strategies and regarded as a top expert in the field.
Authority Site System Pros and Cons
As you may have already guessed it, I’m a big fan of the Authority Site System and what they have done for me. I not only have a profitable affiliate blog on the way to becoming an Authority blog, but I’m also waking up to daily affiliate income that is increasing with each passing month.
Nonetheless, this Authority Site System review wouldn’t be complete without a list of Pros and Cons that comes with taking the course!
PROS | CONS |
---|---|
Taught by authority site owners who walk the walk and have their own portfolio of profitable niche websites | Can be slightly boring because it is very technical and in-depth |
Low cost course with more than 10x return on investment potential | Full course is updated about once every 2 years. |
In-depth step-by-step training modules, great for beginners | |
Lifetime Access to Course Updates | |
Private Facebook group for course members to get answers to their questions |
As you can see, it was tough for me to find many ‘cons’ to add to the list. The course works as advertised. It will take hard work to get results, but the program works and is put together extremely well.
Authority Hacker Success Stories
There is no shortage of Authority Hacker success stories. You can find many right within the hacker course Facebook group as well as on the TASS sales page. One of the more well known success stories is that of Authority Hacker student, Kevin Espiritu founder of Epic Gardening.
Not long ago, Kevin hit his first 8 figure year with his authority blog and social media sites. He, along with other TASS and Authority Hacker Pro students are a true testament to how Authority sites can grow to be large media companies and businesses.
So if you’re wondering if Authority sites make money, then yes they indeed do!
How Much Does Authority Hacker Cost?
The Authority Hacker course, Authority Site System costs $1,499. Although, you can get it at a 60% discount when you use a promo link to purchase.

Is the Authority Site System Good for Intermediate affiliate marketers?
The Authority Site System is not the best course for intermediate affiliate marketers. It is recommended that intermediate and advanced affiliate marketers take the premium course, Authority Hacker Pro.
Is the Authority Site System Worth It?
Yes, the Authority Site System is well worth it.
As a student, I may not go down as the fastest person to find success with TASS and building an authority site. Though 2 years later, my site is a mid 4-figure monthly income earning site, and I wake up every single morning thankful that I purchased TASS.
If you feel that the Authority Site System is for you, then use the promo link to nab TASS at 60% Off today.
