Why Become an Amazon Product Reviewer

Amazon product reviewers help shoppers understand how a product works, the benefits of that product, and if it’s worthy to purchase.

These reviews are not only important for the end customer, but also for the success of Amazon sellers and Amazon itself.

Some surveys have even found that upwards of 95% of consumers read reviews before they shop.

As a result, companies and brands that sell on Amazon will actively search for and recruit Amazon product reviewers to help beef up their online reviews.

This demand has created lots of opportunities for people like you and I to get free products and make money writing and recording Amazon product reviews.

2 Types of Amazon Reviewers

  • Become an Amazon Reviewer for Free Products
  • Become an Amazon Reviewer and Get Paid

You can be whichever type of product reviewer you wish to be, it all comes down to your preference.

Become an Amazon Reviewer and Get Paid

Amazon reviewers that get paid for their reviews are part of the Amazon Associates and Amazon Influencer program.

These programs will earn you Amazon affiliate commissions for shoppers who purchase due to your product reviews and overall marketing efforts.

Amazon Associates Program

Amazon Associates are typically bloggers and review website owners who promote products sold on Amazon and earn commissions on sales. This is known as affiliate marketing.

For instance, Amazon affiliate bloggers create authority sites focused on one topic for the sole purpose of earning affiliate commissions on their reviews

Charlie Kelly is one such person who took his authority site to 5-figures per month in Amazon affiliate commissions.

The Amazon Associates program will pay reviewers commissions from 1% – 20% on qualified purchases and can be very lucrative for affiliate bloggers.

This FREE training will show you how to build a profitable Amazon affiliate review site that earns you $1,000+ per month.

Amazon Influencer Program

The Amazon Influencer program is an extension of the Amazon Associates program and is recommended for social media influencers.

Social media influencers is such a broad term, but essentially if you have at least 500 followers on either Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, then you can apply.

As long as you get good engagement on that account, then Amazon will consider your application.

Get paid as an Amazon Influencer

If accepted, you may become eligible to get paid for your Amazon video reviews that appear on product detail pages.

You’ll also earn commissions on sales from anyone you send to Amazon that uses your Amazon assigned affiliate link.

I wrote all about the requirements to join and the many ways in which you can get paid in my Amazon Influencer review.

Read more about the differences between the Amazon Influencer and Associates program.

How Much Do Amazon Reviewers Make?

Amazon reviewers who are part of the Amazon Associates and Amazon Influencer program get paid affiliate commissions ranging from 1% – 20%, in addition to earning Amazon bounties.

Commissions are uncapped. So really the sky’s the limit for how much you can make as an Amazon product reviewer.

As an Amazon Influencer affiliate, I get paid for my Amazon product review videos, as well as from sales originating from my blog. For the month of January 2023, I was paid $523.63 for my Amazon product reviews.

The more people you send to your Amazon Influencer storefront or Amazon affiliate website, the more potential money you can earn.

So where do you promote your Amazon reviews to make the most amount of money?

Let’s go over that next!

Where to Promote Your Amazon Reviews

The great thing about being a paid Amazon reviewer is that you can promote your reviews anywhere! You are in charge of how you want to go about it, and how much time and effort you put into it.

Here next, I’ll share with you the different ways in which I and other affiliates promote our Amazon reviews to earn a sweet side hustle income.

Start an Amazon Affiliate Blog

One way in which you can make money reviewing Amazon products is to start an Amazon affiliate site. For example, let’s say you’re well versed in how to play electric guitars.

You can start an affiliate website that reviews all sorts of guitars and equipment, and link out to that product on Amazon with your affiliate link.

Anyone you refer to Amazon that makes a purchase will earn you an affiliate commission!

Here’s an example of a website earning Amazon affiliate commissions reviewing electric guitars.

It also doesn’t cost much to get started. The only things you need to start an affiliate review site include:

  • A domain name
  • A Keyword Research Tool such as SEMRush

That’s it! Start writing helpful product reviews on your new site and you’ll start to earn money as an Amazon product reviewer!

This FREE training will show you how to build a profitable Amazon affiliate review site that earns you $1,000+ per month.

YouTube Product Review Channel

90% of people say they discover new brands or products on YouTube. So it makes sense to start a YouTube product review channel to drive people to your Amazon affiliate links or Influencer storefront.

That’s exactly what I did.

Once I was accepted into the Amazon Influencer program, I started a second YouTube channel where I post my Amazon reviews.

YouTube Product Review Channel example

I set up my Hot Spot Reviews channel in a matter of minutes. It’s so easy to do, especially when you have Canva to whip up beautifully designed YouTube banners.

Not to mention, it’s completely free to start a YouTube channel, so the barriers to entry are super low!

Some people, such as YouTube legend Sean Cannell, have earned hundreds of thousands of dollars reviewing Amazon products on their channel.

You don’t even need to buy any new equipment or software to get started.

You can simply use your smartphone to record your reviews and then upload it to YouTube. I’ve done this on many occasions, and it’s worked out well.

Once uploaded, place your Amazon Influencer storefront link in the descriptions of the video and you’re set to start earning commissions!

Create Short Form Video Reviews

Have you heard of the hashtags #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt or #FoundItOnAmazon

These viral hashtags are terms regularly used by Amazon reviewers who create short form product review videos and post them to their social media accounts.

It’s such a huge trend that has turned many social media influencers into Amazon affiliate millionaires nearly overnight.

The best part about this is that many of these short form review videos are only 20 – 45 seconds long!

TikTok

TikTok is one of the best places to post these videos if you really want to gain some quick traction.

Most reviewers only use their smartphone and a video editing software tool such as CapCut to create engaging short video reviews.

TikTok Amazon Influencer

As an Amazon Influencer, you’ll have an Amazon storefront link that you can place in your bio where people will find all your product reviews.

If you want to learn how to become an Amazon Reviewer and get paid for posting on TikTok, then follow some of these TikTok Amazon Influencers:

If you need help creating engaging short form video reviews, then the guys at No Limit Creatives are experts at this! Try them out and get 50% OFF your first month when you use promo code: PILAR50 at checkout.

Pinterest

Pinterest is another place to upload your short form Amazon product review videos.

Not long ago, Pinterest introduced their product tagging feature that enables creators and affiliate reviewers to pin their affiliate links directly onto pins.

As Pinterest users browse through the Pinterest feed, they can click on these shoppable pins and go directly to the product page to purchase the item.

The good news is that Pinterest has formed affiliate partnerships with many programs including the Amazon associates program.

The built in feature is ready for you to use with a Pinterest Business account.

Check out some of these short form videos I created and pinned as an Amazon Influencer affiliate, which are tagged with my Amazon affiliate links:

I created these videos on my own, but if you need help, then try out No Limit Creatives. I’ve used them many times in the past and highly recommend their work!

Where to Get Free and Discounted Products to Review

In order to become an Amazon reviewer, you need to get your hands on products to review.

Amazon review sites are one popular place where reviewers go to find free and discounted products to review. Here are just some of these sites below.

Vipon

Vipon is a website and app where you’ll find countless Amazon products at significant discounts. The site is meant to help Amazon sellers gain traction with their product by moving items quickly to increase the product’s Amazon ranking.

As an Amazon reviewer, you can purchase these items for review on your blog or Amazon Influencer storefront.

Rebaid

Rebaid is a similar site as Vipon. You’ll get products for FREE after rebate or at heavily discounted prices when you join. Get your hands on any of these products to start reviewing today.

Field Agent

As a paid Amazon reviewer, I’m always looking for free products that I can review. The Field Agent gig app is not a typical recommendation you hear from other affiliate bloggers, but it has worked well for me.

On many occasions, I’ve used the Field Agent ‘Mystery Shopper gigs‘ to get free products. I’ve then reviewed these products for my Amazon Influencer storefront.

The app is free to use and you can read all about these gigs in my Field Agent app review.

I also share other places to get free and discounted Amazon products here.
