How Much Do Pinterest Bloggers Make?
The amount of money Pinterest bloggers earn each month varies based on your niche, monetization methods and Pinterest marketing strategy.
For instance, a blogger who earns through display ads would focus on attracting lots of traffic to their site.
They make their money based on the number of visitors who see those ads, so high traffic is key.
Yet in my case, I’m a blogger who leverages affiliate links to earn money on Pinterest. I earn high-paying commissions on products and services I promote.
This means my strategy revolves around not just driving traffic, but attracting visitors who are likely to click through and make purchases.
Here’s an example of commissions I’ve earned promoting No Limit Creatives as a Pinterest affiliate blogger.
And here’s one of my No Limit Creatives Pinterest pins showing up in the Google search results that drives buyers to my blog article.
(Pinterest pins not only show up in the Pinterest search results, but they can also appear in Google search and DOUBLE your traffic!)
No worries if you’re not familiar with these monetization methods yet.
I’ll break down the different ways you can earn money as a Pinterest blogger further along in this article. Stick with me!
Why is Pinterest Good for Blogging?
Pinterest is a goldmine for bloggers because the platform runs on SEO and keywords, which in general most bloggers are already doing.
It’s similar to Google SEO, where content visibility is driven by how well you optimize for search terms.
The better optimized you are on Pinterest, the greater the chances that potential readers will find your pins, and ultimately your blog.
The main difference is that it’s much easier to rank your blog on Pinterest than it is to rank it on Google. This is one of the biggest benefits to starting a blog on Pinterest as a complete beginner.
And with more than 518 million monthly active users, Pinterest is an ideal place for you as a site owner to drive traffic to your blog!
How to Start a Blog on Pinterest
To start a blog on Pinterest, you’ll first need to pick a niche, set up a visually appealing blog and create a Pinterest business account for access to analytics and Pinterest Trends.
Then, create engaging high-quality pins that link back to your blog content, making sure to use relevant keywords for SEO to increase visibility and attract readers.
This is the free blog training I took that helped me start my 5-figure per month site. If you’re a complete beginner, then this is a solid training to take!
1. Pick a Niche
Some niches thrive on Pinterest more than others.
Typically, when you hear about blogs that quickly gained traction on Pinterest, they are usually in the following niches.
- Home Decor – A place where people go for design inspiration and planning for their home. Think of it as a virtual store where people get to see the entire layout of how things look together. They pick and choose what they like and buy those products.
- DIY and Crafts – People want to create something on a budget or just create it themselves for fun. This can be backyard DIY projects, DIY crafts for kids, woodworking and more.
- Food and Drink – Every day there’s food in our lives and even more food around the holidays. People want to try new recipes and explore new cuisines. The options are endless, especially when you consider dietary restrictions.
- Fashion and Beauty – People want to look good and feel good. They want to know what goes well with their body type and explore new trends. It’s all about body confidence and self-acceptance.
- Travel – There are so many options here. Think sub niches such as: digital nomad travel, staycations, road trips, camping trips, world travel, living abroad, etc. (think places to eat, must visit spots, itineraries, etc. for blog posts)
Other niches can do well on Pinterest, such as personal finance and make money online, which is the niche I’m in.
But it may require a different approach in Pinterest marketing strategy and monetization methods.
For instance, I focus heavily on promoting recurring affiliate programs that pay me for the lifetime of the customer I refer.
This means, I don’t have to rely on high Pinterest traffic in order to earn $500 or more per day pinning on Pinterest.
2. Create a Pinterest Blog
Before AI blog builders, you needed to have coding skills and design knowledge in order to create visually appealing websites.
This is one of the reasons I first started doing Pinterest affiliate marketing without a blog, well before I started this site.
Nowadays, you can use all-in-one AI website builder tools such as Hostinger to create beautifully designed and fully functional blogs in a matter of minutes!
You can also get your domain name and website hosting with Hostinger if you want to keep everything in one place.
I personally use WPX hosting for this site, but Hostinger is just as good.
Once you’re signed up, Hostinger AI website builder will ask you for a quick summary on your business and blog niche.
Based on the information you provide, it’ll build you a ready-made website in less than 5 minutes.
It’s super quick and easy to create a blog these days compared to a few years back.
Here are 3 AI Tools integrated into Hostinger website builder:
- AI Logo Maker – Get your website logo designed with AI
- AI Writer – Have AI write your blog posts for you
- AI Heatmap – Let AI analyze your site and give you recommendations for the best reader experience
AI has become an essential part of my blog.
It assists me in writing blog articles and I can’t even imagine how much more time-consuming and challenging it would be without this technology.
I currently use KoalaWriter to help me write blog articles and earn upwards of $500 per day with AI blogging.
If I were to start a new Pinterest blog from scratch, I would use Hostinger AI to build and write articles for my site (mainly for the cost savings).

3. Sign Up for a Pinterest Business Account
A Pinterest Business Account is a free account that will give you access to business tools, rich pins and other useful data pertinent to your success as a Pinterest blogger.
Having a business account also enables you to claim your website, which boosts your content’s credibility.
Plus, you can take advantage of Pinterest Ads to target specific audiences and drive more traffic to your blog if you decide to go that route.
4. Claim Your Website
After you create a Pinterest business account for your blog, go into your profile settings and claim your website on Pinterest.
This can be done by either adding an HTML tag to your website, uploading an HTML file, or by adding a DNS TXT record to your website.
Pinterest has great instructions on how to do this on their website.
Now, anytime someone pins an image from your claimed website to Pinterest, that pin will link back to your Pinterest profile and people will see the option to follow you on Pinterest.
It’s a powerful feature and one that will get more people to find you and your blog on Pinterest!
5. Add Rich Pins
Adding rich pins to your site is essential because it will provide extra information directly on your pin such as bold headlines and descriptions.
It will also sync your article content with your pin. So if you change the headline of your article, the change will also be reflected on your pins.
This is especially helpful when updating your article with new trending keywords. With rich pins enabled, any updates to your blog posts will automatically sync to Pinterest, keeping your pins continuously relevant and optimized.
That’s one way I keep the SEO juice flowing and why Pinterest is so good for affiliate marketing!

6. Create Pinterest Boards that Align with Blog
As a blogger on Pinterest, you want to ensure you create boards that align with your blog’s main topics and categories.
For instance, since I have blog articles related to mystery shopping, I created a Pinterest board named ‘Mystery Shopping Jobs.’
This lets Pinterest know that my content on this board is relevant to users searching for information on mystery shopping, helping to boost my visibility and attract a targeted audience.
You also want to use relevant keywords in your board titles and board descriptions (which we’ll discuss a little later on!)
If you’re an affiliate blogger like me, this is going to increase your chances of making affiliate sales from targeted readers finding your blog articles.
This is a key reason I can make affiliate sales on Pinterest without constantly trying to make one of my pins go viral.
7. Design Eye-Catching Pins
Pinterest traffic for bloggers is highly dependent on how appealing your pin graphic or video is, as eye-catching visuals are crucial for grabbing attention and driving clicks.
If you lack graphic design skills, then it’s best to hire this out.
You can use an unlimited graphic design company to help you with this, or purchase a proven click worthy Canva pin template and customize it to your niche.
Pinterest Marketing Expert, Nadalie Bardo, offers customizable templates in her Pin Template Starter kit that you can use for pinning on Pinterest.
8. Automate Pinterest Posts
To pin blog posts to Pinterest, you can do it manually or use a Pinterest scheduling tool to automate the process for you.
These days, automation is key to rapid online growth. So I would definitely recommend automating this process if you want to save time and make money on Pinterest faster.
By signing up with Tailwind and connecting your Pinterest account, you can create and schedule pins in advance, even many months out.
This scheduling tool for Pinterest creators helps you stay consistent with your Pinterest marketing strategy, ensuring you never miss a day of pinning.
Alternatively, if you have the budget you can also hire a Pinterest Virtual Assistant to manage this for you.
How to Use Pinterest to Promote Blog
The key to using Pinterest to promote your blog is to leverage Pinterest SEO by optimizing your pins, boards, and profile with relevant keywords to increase visibility and attract targeted traffic.
One of the best ways to find relevant keywords that drive Pinterest traffic to your blog is to use the Pinterest Trends tool.
There you’ll discover what topics are currently popular and relevant within your niche.
For example, if your Pinterest blog is about home decor and you have blog topics related to bathroom decor, you can search those terms in the trends tool.
From that search, I discovered the phrase ‘tiny bathrooms’ as trending keywords. This exact phrase you would want to include in your board title, board descriptions and Pinterest pin descriptions.
Each month, I check for new trending keywords in my niche to update my Pinterest boards and create new SEO-optimized pins.
