‘What Freebies Can I Get on My Birthday?’
Since my birthday was quickly approaching, I thought it would be a good time to go on the hunt for the best birthday deals that would nab me free food.
I searched online and found that most lists were outdated and the free birthday offers were no longer available. So to make sure this doesn’t happen to you, I plan to update this list every year.
This way, you can rest assured that these birthday freebies Boston edition offers are kept fresh and current.
Fire + Ice
The Fire and Ice restaurant on Berkeley Street in Boston has one of the best birthday freebie deals around. For just being born, they’ll give you a free birthday meal to enjoy on the house!
In order to nab this freebie, you have to join the free VIP Club 90 days prior to your birthday. So make sure to get on the VIP list well in advance.
One other cool little birthday hack you can do is to download the Seated app and book your birthday reservation through there. That way, you’ll be able to earn a cash back reward on the rest of the meals on the tab.
So if your friends or family plan to join you, you can score yourself another sweet little present when you get seated at Fire + Ice! I’ve scored upwards of 29% cash back on my dinner tab, which I’ve then used to cash out to free gift cards.
For example, I signed up my mom for the Fire & Ice VIP Club 3 months in advance. Ten days prior to her birthday, her free dinner voucher came via email (it fell into the ‘spam’ folder, so check there if you haven’t received it yet!)
I then reserved dinner for the both of us using the Seated app for an 18% cash back reward on the meal tab.
My mom’s meal was comped $25.99 for her bday dinner. That brought our final total down to $35.28 on the tab. I then submitted my receipt to Seated and earned $6 in cash back rewards!

Legal Sea Foods
Our beloved city favorite restaurant, Legal Sea Foods, is another top one on the list to try out. Their newly launched loyalty program includes a birthday reward for a free dessert, valid for the entire month of your birthday.
What’s even better is you’ll also score a sign-up reward of a free New England clam chowder that will be sent to you within 24 hours of registering a new account. The sign up bonus is good for 14 days, so make sure to use it before it expires.
Legal Sea Foods Gift Card
One easy way to stretch your birthday rewards even further is to buy a Legal Sea Foods gift card on the site MyGiftCardsPlus dot com. The deals website is powered by SwagBucks and will earn you cash back rewards on your restaurant gift card purchase.
Rebate rewards earned can be cashed out in real money to your PayPal account.
I’ve done this on a couple of occasions and have earned 8% cash back rewards plus Swagbucks bonuses each time. So for example, my $100 Legal Sea Foods gift card purchase earned me an $8 + $5 Swagbucks cash back bonus reward.

Wahlburgers
The ‘Hangin’ Tough’ Dorchester locals, Wahlberg brothers, got it right with their tasty birthday rewards treat. At Wahlburgers when you join the WahlClub, you’ll be treated to one free non-alcoholic shake on your birthday.
Your birthday reward will be issued to you approximately 15 days ahead of your birthday. You can use it as soon as you receive it and up to 30 days after it was issued. So there’s no need to rush on this one. You’ll have a full month to redeem your birthday freebie shake! (no purchase is necessary to nab your freebie)
Additionally, you’ll score a $5 off coupon code as a new WahlClub member. Use your coupon within 14 days of signing up to the loyalty program.
For this birthday freebie, I downloaded the app 36 hours prior to my actual birthday and was issued my redemption codes almost instantly.
As a quick tip, make sure you’re physically at the store prior to hitting the ‘redemption’ button. You’ll need to give the coupon code to the cashier before it expires. My reward gave me 24 hours to use the code.

B. Good
The farm-to-table restaurant chain, B.Good, will offer you a $5 Off voucher good for any order as your birthday gift. Some food items you can nab for free with your voucher include: classic fries, sweet potato fries, avocado toast, a side of chicken breast, a sweet street brownie or a chocolate chunk cookie.
In my case, I used my voucher towards a purchase of their tasty ‘Maple Bacon Beef Burger.’ Essentially, I was able to get my burger at half off the listed price.
You’ll have up to 28 days to redeem your B. Good birthday freebie from the time they issue you the reward. Sign up to their loyalty program to earn your birthday reward.
To stretch my rewards even further, I scanned my receipt on Fetch Rewards to earn cash back points.
Starbucks
I’m a Starbucks coffee chick. Every single morning I grab my ice coffee no matter if there’s a snowstorm or blizzard happening outside!
It’s a Bostonian thing for sure.
If you’re into Starbucks as much as I am, then make sure to join the Starbucks Rewards loyalty program at least 7 days prior to your birthday.
Make sure to also add your birthday in the app.
On the day of your birthday, you’ll be gifted with a free Starbucks drink or food item of your choice.
(The other way to get free drinks is to take advantage of the Starbucks BOGO deal promotions!)
To qualify for your birthday freebie, you must have made at least one Star-earning transaction prior to your birthday.
One easy hack to pay less on your first Star Rewards loyalty transaction is to use the Fluz app to purchase a Starbucks gift card.
Load the card to your Starbucks app and use it to pay during your visit. You’ll earn upwards of 25% cash back rewards from Fluz and double the star reward points with Starbucks!
So make sure to use your loyalty card at least once ahead of your birthday to nab your Starbucks birthday freebie!

Jersey Mike’s Subs
How’s a free birthday sub sound?
Jersey Mike’s has an awesome deal where they’ll reward you with a free regular sized sub on the day of your birthday. All you have to do is sign up for a free Shore Points® account to earn your reward.
An email will be sent to you on your special day informing you that 72 points for a free regular sub and 8 points towards your next purchase have been added to your account. There’s no purchase necessary to receive your birthday freebie.
I joined the loyalty program 36 hours prior to my birthday and was able to nab this awesome deal!
Your birthday rewards points will remain in your account until you use them. Jersey Mike’s Shore Points® never expire, so use it to nab your free sub whenever you want!
Crumbl Cookies
Crumbl Cookies are ridiculously tasty! As part of their loyalty rewards program, you’ll be able to score a free birthday cookie of your choice. Simply sign up to the program in-store, online, or download the free app.
Then add your phone number as well as your birthday to qualify for your free birthday reward. Within the app, this can be found under:
Wallet > Earn Free Crumbs > Join Birthday Club
Crumbl will send you a ‘free cookie voucher’ via email at 10am MST on the day of your birthday. This will also appear in your app if you downloaded it.
Birthday vouchers expire 40 days after your birthday and can be redeemed for pick-up or in-store purchases. You will only receive your birthday voucher email if you sign up at least 48 hours prior to your birthday.
Since I was signing up 36 hours before my birthday, I contacted Crumbl chat support about my upcoming birthday freebie cookie. Without hesitation, the customer rep sent me a text message with a free cookie voucher QR code in the event I didn’t receive my birthday cookie voucher.
I did end up receiving the birthday voucher on my actual birthday and ultimately scored two free Crumbl Cookies! Join the Crumbl birthday club to get your birthday treat.
IHop
At IHop, the birthday freebie special on the menu is a free 5 stack of buttermilk pancakes. As with most programs, you first need to join their loyalty rewards program to earn your freebie.
The IHop loyalty program is an interesting one by the name of ‘International Bank of Pancakes.’ It almost mimics Cryptocurrency markets where you earn ‘PanCoins’ that can be redeemed towards free food at IHop.
Loyalty members receive 5 PanCoins on the first day of the month of their birthday. The five PanCoins can be used on a full stack of pancakes or another item of your choosing (that is worth 5 PanCoins or less).
To ensure you receive your IHop birthday breakfast, make sure to add your birthday to your loyalty account. Within the app, this can be found under:
Account > Profile & Settings
Again, I was very late in signing up for this program and so my birthday PanCoins were not immediately deposited into my account. I contacted IHop customer support by email to explain this. They were kind enough to instantly deposit a free stack of 5 buttermilk pancakes into my account.
Your PanCoins can be used at any time. I ordered my pancake stack for takeout at the counter and presented my redemption code at that time. Once you hit ‘redeem’ on your reward of choice, you’ll have a full year to claim the item at IHop.
Papa Gino’s
I hope you’re enjoying these birthday freebies Boston edition so far! This next one I’m about to share with you went way better than I expected.
Papa Gino’s will reward you with a free small cheese pizza on the day of your birthday, which can be used up to 14 days from when it was issued. To redeem this birthday freebie simply sign up to Papa Gino’s loyalty program. No purchase is necessary to score this offer.
The added bonus here is when you download the Papa Gino’s app for the first time, you’ll also earn another free small cheese pizza. For this reward, you’ll need to purchase a drink in order to claim the offer.
I didn’t mind one bit making this purchase. On my birthday, I went into a Papa Gino’s location and redeemed both offers at the same time. At the counter, they will ask for your rewards loyalty program information.
I ended up walking out with 2 free small cheese pizzas for the price of one bottled drink!
Flour Bakery + Cafe
Boston local favorite, Flour Bakery + Cafe, gives you $5 in Flour credit as a special birthday gift!
Use your reward to treat yourself to Joanne Chang’s famous sticky buns, or nab yourself a savory cauliflower melt.
If you’re anything like my cousin, then you’ll nab a birthday free coffee!
For this Boston birthday freebie, you’ll need to download the Flour app and create a Flour Rewards account prior to your birthday.
A few days before your actual born day, you’ll receive an email notification that your $5 birthday credit has been loaded to your account.
You’ll have 10 days from the date the reward was issued to redeem your Flour credit. Reward is redeemable with the Flour app only.
Fogo de Chao
Craving Brazilian food for your birthday?
Join the Fogo de Chao eClub for a $25 birthday discount code toward Fogo’s Full Churrasco experience!
According to their website, ‘The Full Churrasco Experience is the signature prix-fixe menu selection that includes all premium and classic cuts of protein, plus the fresh and seasonal Market Table & Feijoada Bar and authentic Brazilian side dishes.’
The meal normally runs about $67 per person. So it’s a deal to get $25 off!
Ben & Jerry’s
Ben & Jerry’s will give you a free scoop of ice cream for your birthday. To nab this offer, first join their Flavor Fanatics rewards program.
Then on the day of your birthday, walk into any Ben & Jerry’s location and use the phone number you signed up with to score your free ice cream.
According to Ben & Jerry’s Terms and Conditions, additional rules apply to earn the ‘Birthday Offer’ reward:
- The Birthday Offer is open to all Participants who have enrolled in the Program at least twenty-four hours (24) hours prior to the 1st day of the month of their birthdays.
- If you sign up either (i) within twenty-four (24) hours of the 1st day of your birthday month or (ii) during your birthday month, you will not be eligible to receive a Birthday Offer in that calendar year.
- The Birthday Offer will be emailed to Participants on or about the first day of their birthday month at the email address provided upon Participant’s enrollment.
- The Birthday Offer must be redeemed at any time during the Participant’s birthday month at participating Scoop Shops or online at benjerry.com/scoop-shops/takeout.
Despite not meeting these conditions, I was still able to earn my Ben & Jerry’s free scoop of ice cream birthday offer. It may have served me well that I didn’t read the Terms and Conditions prior to walking into one of their stores.
I simply told the worker behind the counter that it was my birthday. He immediately grabbed a small cup and asked me what flavor I wanted as my freebie. Additionally, he threw free chocolate sprinkles as a topping at my request (free of charge!).
The only thing he asked of me was to show my ID to prove that it was in fact my birthday. SCORE!
Panera Bread
Celebrate your birthday with Panera Bread’s special treat of a free pastry! I chose the delicious ‘Kitchen Sink Cookie’ for mine.
To enjoy your complimentary Panera Bread birthday reward, simply join the MyPanera rewards program.
As a bonus, new members instantly receive an additional free pastry. I redeemed both rewards at the same time and DOUBLED my Panera birthday freebies!
Now here’s where things start to get a little fuzzy.
Your Panera birthday treat is free with no purchase necessary. I signed up for MyPanera rewards during my birthday month and was able to nab my freebie.
Panera gave me 12 days to redeem my birthday pastry (this is despite their website saying you’ll only have 7 days to redeem it).
I also redeemed my birthday treat in-store, even though their website states you need to redeem online and with a credit card. 🤷♀️
The other discrepancy was with the complimentary pastry you receive for joining MyPanera rewards. According to Panera, you need to make a purchase in order to redeem your free pastry.
This was not the case for me!
The store attendant informed me that I had two free pastries available in my account at which point I walked out with 2 FREE Kitchen Sink Cookies!
It was a sweet birthday surprise!
Texas Roadhouse
If you tell Texas Roadhouse it’s your birthday and you’re a member of their VIP club, you’ll receive your choice of a FREE Appetizer or Sidekick.
The birthday freebie is valid with the purchase of an adult entree.
The Texas Roadhouse birthday coupon code will be emailed to you approximately 10 days before your birthday.
You can use it anytime up to 4 days after your birthday, giving you plenty of time to enjoy your reward!
I signed up for the VIP club the same month as my birthday.
As a new member, you’ll receive a free appetizer coupon code, which is valid with the purchase of an adult entrée and can be used within the first 15 days.
Buffalo Wild Wings
The Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Rewards® program will get you your choice of 6 free boneless or traditional wings during your birthday month.
According to a customer service rep, a ‘Free Birthday Snack Size Wings’ certificate will be added to a member’s account on the first day of the birthday month.
Once again I was late to sign up and my award wasn’t automatically added to my account. I contacted customer service and they granted me a one-time exception and added 1,300 points into my member account.
I used the points to nab my free birthday wings at a location nearby. Though, there was a bit of confusion at my Buffalo Wild Wings location.
The attendant there stated I needed to hit the ‘redeem’ offer within the app while at the store. For that reason, they said they couldn’t find my reward under my loyalty account and that it had disappeared.
It surprised me since the email I received stated that my redemption certification would be good for 90 days. After a bit of back and forth, I did receive my wings redemption for free. It may have just been this particular store where this issue was encountered.
You may have a better experience at your Buffalo Wild Wings location. Nonetheless, all that ends well is well!
Wingstop
Wingstop’s birthday freebie was the most vague offer of them all. One of the stated incentives to joining their rewards program is that you’ll nab a ‘free birthday gift.’
There was no further information I could find on their website about this. So armed with my Wingstop app with the said offer, I walked into my local wing shop.
None of the employees nor the manager were aware of such a program. After a bit of back and forth, they were kind enough to give me an order of free loaded cheesy fries.
I should state that I signed up to the loyalty program only a couple of days prior to my birthday and I did not contact customer service. So if you register for a rewards account well in advance, you may actually get an email about your birthday freebie.
Good luck on this one!
Cheesecake Factory
The newly launched Cheesecake Rewards™ program will spoil you with your favorite slice of cheesecake or layer cake on your birthday! Not to mention, you’ll also get surprise member offers and discounts from time to time.
To redeem your free birthday slice, follow these instructions:
- Become a Cheesecake Rewards™ member at least 24 hours prior to your birthday to receive your complimentary slice.

I want to give a quick shout out to the manager at the CPK Prudential location. He graciously gave my aunt her free birthday dessert despite joining CPK rewards on the actual day of her birthday. (the reward was not showing in the app)

This is where my friends and I ended the night for my birthday festivities. When you join the free Puttshack VIP Perks Club, you’ll be rewarded with a free game of mini-golf for your birthday. Use it on your special day or up to 5 weeks from when the reward is issued to you.
